POSITION SUMMARY:

Perform operations using multiple 30-75 clip press tonnage stamping presses and related processing equipment with close attention to detail and product quality. Complete routine part measurements and complex dimensional inspections using measuring equipment in a laboratory environment to verify strict product compliance to blue print specifications. Assess equipment perfo1mance based on part inspections results and make appropriate recommendations for machine and/or tool adjustments.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Load and unload coils on multiple machines.
  • Move (lift, push, pull or otherwise manipulate) coils up to 500 pounds with assistance and 60 pounds independently.
  • Operate press room equipment, including coil lifts, specialized coil winding & unwinding systems, noise abatement enclosures and ultrasonic aqueous cleaning tanks, according to established procedures.
  • Make minor adjustments to equipment as needed or instructed.
  • Produce quality work and meet production standards.
  • Complete and maintain all required production records.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment according to issued work orders.
  • Assist Tool Makers with tooling setups and removal.
  • Sample parts and materials and visually inspect for general appearance and defects.
  • Perform dimensional inspections requiring a sound understanding of measurement and measuring equipment.
  • If defects are found and parts do not conform to specification, notify supervision for corrective actions and for placement of product on hold. Assist in establishing the corrective action required.
  • Detect and report to supervision any unusual equipment or process conditions that could affect quality or productivity.
  • Follow all procedure and work instructions that apply to the position.
  • Be capable of certifying in all areas of the position. Understand EH&S procedures for safe storage of flammables, evacuation procedure, hazardous spills and use of fire extinguisher.
  • Computer literacy with competency in Word, Excel and SAP.
  • Maintain work area in clean and orderly condition.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Able to performs mixing, pumping and "in department" handling of aqueous cleaners in accordance with established procedures.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

 

Salary Range:  LG5 - Starting from $17.50 per hour, based on experience.
